Depth
by Owen Mercer
For this project, I was tasked with taking a collection of photos using three different ways to take a photo. The first way is depth staging, depth staging is where I have two or more objects set one in front of the other so that I can see the space between the objects as they get farther away. The second way is repetition, though many of the photos show repetition in some it is not the main factor, in these photos one object is shown repeating several times as well as being the main focus of the photo. For the last photoI used the technique of leading lines, leading lines is where you have a clear line leading from the bottom to the top of the photo straight down the middle.

Your photos are very visually interesting, with many different aspects, and often not a clear subject. I also like the use of black and white to emphasize shapes. However, the upside down hippo and dragon photo doesn't really give off a give of a sense of depth like the others do very well.
ReplyDeletethe varied saturation of these photos is very well done, i like how no two photos look really the same. the use of shadows to show a line in the second to last photo was excellent, and my favorite photo in the series.
ReplyDeleteI like the large variety of pictures you have, I really like the last one of the street too, I think its well taken and well edited.

ReplyDeleteI really like how you were able to balance the components of the photo of the holes in the table as your reflection couldn't be seen.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you altered the colors in each photo and your repetition
